At Yeoman Park our day is structured around the needs of our children and young people.
A typical day at Yeoman Park
9am – Academy day begins.
9am-9.30am – Arrival.
Most pupils arrive via minibus. Some parents bring their child in to school. Pupils are met by staff and taken to class where activities await them.
9.30am-10am – Getting ready to learn.
Registration (hello, news, Fun Fit).
10am-10.40am – Session one based upon our curriculum
10.40am-11.10am – Break and snack time.
An opportunity to develop communication and social skills.
11.10am-11.50am – Session two based upon our curriculum
12pm–1.25pm – Lunchtime and break time.
Choosing and eating lunch. Play time and a chance to practice communication and social skills.
Throughout the day pupils receive speech and language, medical, physiotherapy and occupational therapy interventions,
1.25pm-1.40pm – Registration and relaxation.
It is important that pupils are ready to learn and have time to adjust from running around at break time to being back in the classroom.
1.40pm-2.30pm – Session three based upon our curriculum
2.30pm-3pm – Tutor time and preparing for home
3pm – Academy day ends
3-3.20pm – Departure
Total hours for the week are 30 hours
