This is the first of a weekly blog to keep you up to date with what is happening at Yeoman Park Academy. Updates should happen every Friday and classes will take it in turns to tell you what has been happening in the academy and in their class. We hope that you will find it informative.

We will fully open on Monday 8 March and will continue to operate in class bubbles, and where possible, maintain social distancing. It is expected that all children will be back on that date unless prior discussions have taken place. Apart from operating as bubbles classes should be operating as near to normality as possible. For children who have not been at the academy for a while, we will be offering what we call a ‘recovery curriculum’ so children can be eased gently back in to working.

A large part of what the children missed was the social aspect of the academy and as such we will still be using teams to have whole academy assemblies. We will also be working of transitions for those children in year 13 and 14 who are due to leave us in July.

We appreciate that it is a worrying time – if you are struggling, please talk to us so we can work together to find a solution.

Home learning will still happen if for any reason a child needs to self-isolate or under medical advice needs to stay at home. For those who have borrowed laptops these need to be returned on the first day back.

Home testing is currently only available for secondary age children – details to follow. If this changes we will let you know.

We look forward to seeing everybody back on the 8th.
