This festive season we have taken part in a variety of festive learning experiences. We have learned about advent and how it is celebrated, exploring the meaning and traditions behind the Christmas season.

Excitement continued with a special visit from Santa, which brought smiles and festive cheer throughout the academy.

Some of us enhanced our travel training skills by using public transport to visit Inspire Mansfield Central Library. During the visit, we enjoyed a screening of The Grinch, while also developing confidence and independence. Along the journey, we admired Mansfield’s beautiful Christmas lights, making the trip both educational and enjoyable.

Festive learning continued beyond the academy, with some learners enjoying a fabulous day at Clumber Park. We explored the park while searching for the ‘Elf on the shelf’ sculptures. We discovered Ginger the elf, Christmas joy, the merry maker, birds and berries, and even the elf on the shelf sitting under the Christmas tree.

In the final days of term, we shared thoughtful and heartwarming Christmas messages, reflecting kindness, positivity and the true spirit of the season. It was a lovely way to mark the end of the term and celebrate the time of year together.

We are proud of the care, effort and enthusiasm shown by our learners throughout these activities and thank families and staff for their continued support over the year. Everyone at Yeoman Park Academy wishes the community a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
